As I studied ACIM, Jesus was having me concentrate on “pray, listen, and follow.” He would tell me, “As opposed to your analytics, I will guide you and inform you precisely what to say, what to do, and where you should go. I will handle all time and space in the event that you gives the mind to me. I will handle all of the arrangements.”
This is mind-boggling to the ego! What can you mean, “handle all of the arrangements”? How about airline tickets, transportation, food, and shelter? The concentrate on “pray, listen and follow,” the directions that Jesus gave me, became 100% trustworthy, 100% safe, and 100% time-saving.
A Parable with David
One of my ACIM students in the 1990s came out in my experience to truly have a cup of tea at my dining table at the Peace House. a course in miracles She sat down and said, “I've X amount of money, and it's in the stock market right now. I'm praying and wondering what I ought to do with this money.”
We were having our cup of tea and I said, “You're supposed to completely get out of the stock market right now.” I'm not really a stockbroker, I don't really follow the stock market, but it really came through me, effortlessly, as a necessitate love.
And so she did. She returned and completely sold all her stocks. Right next, the stock market took a giant dive, a giant crash. Then she went back and said in my experience, “Do you know how much cash you saved me with everything you told me?” And I said, “That wasn't me! I don't claim any responsibility for that advice and guidance. What did I say?”
I'm just into praying, listen, and following. I'm not thinking about giving people guidance and advice. Frances and I can inform you that over time practicing ACIM and living together as a small grouping of people, there are certainly a large amount of logistics that come up for consideration. The one thing that's carried many of us through is “pray, listen, and follow.” We have learned to be 0% analytical and 100% trust.
